译文：

3）  注意：a.上面译文与原文主语和表语的位置。

         b.原文中was体现“过去时态”，而汉语动词本身没有体现时态的变形，因此译文中需加“当时”。

1)      looked upon…as:把…看作

2)      a historically significant experi­ment:具有历史意义的尝试

注意experi­ment是“实验”、“试验”的意思。这里译成“尝试”。historically副词转译为形容词。

译文：

3）  yours指your country， mine 指my country，把your country翻译为“贵国”很好，比较客气，也与演讲的场合相符合。

译文：
